What is a Manage Services Provider (MSP)

The basic definition of an MSP is an IT company which provides to their client;

24x7x365 monitoring and maintenance
A help desk with remote support and onsite support
Vendor management

Importantly, all these services are available for a fixed fee – be that monthly (most typical), quarterly or annually.

To clarify;

24x7x365 Monitoring and Maintenance does not mean 24x7 support.
It means pro-actively monitoring what is happening on a client's network and responding accordingly.
Support is the act of assisting with a user issue, like email, printing or hardware faults.
Vendor Management is giving clients one hand to shake (or as some have put it, one throat to choke).
For example, if the Internet connection goes down, the client phones the MSP, and they deal with it (not the client).

In the end an MSP is a IT headache removal specialist.

If it's related to IT the OchreOnline will take it off of the customer's plate and put it on their own. The customer doesn't have to worry about dealing with a dozen different IT-related things. They have the OchreOnline there to do it for them.
